Old Fashioned Traditions in Keller, Texas

 

Dr. Steve Meyerdirk, Keller VeterinarianDr. Steve Meyerdirk graduated from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 1981 and completed his post doctorate training at Texas A&M University.  He has been chief of staff of two emergency clinics in the North Texas area and has owned veterinary clinics in Denton, Texas as well.  Dr. Meyerdirk's hobbies encompass his family lifestyle, taking care of animals, and raising whitetail deer.  He purchased Keller Animal Clinic in July 2010 and has fallen deeply in love with the people and lifestyle of Keller, Texas.  Dr. Meyerdirk also offers laparoscopic spays.

 







Dr. Blake Rochell is a 2015 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He grew up working in mixed animal practices in rural Oklahoma.  He and his wife Rana moved to Texas in 2015 and have no welcomed their first born, Rhett to their family!  Their four-legged child is Corbin the corgi who has been by Dr. Rochell's side since before vet school.  Dr. Rochell loves anything outdoors, especially the lake.  Dr. Rochell has enjoyed beginning his career here with us and looks forward to many more years taking care of the pets that frequent Keller Animal Clinic.  Make sure you tell him hello next time you are in the office!


 

Dr. Jeff TidwellDr. Jeff Tidwell is a 1981 graduate of Oklahoma State University (OSU).  He has worked in small animal medicine and surgery for over 30 years and has built and owned two veterinary clinics in Oklahoma.  He brings with him a meticulous portfolio of veterinary experience to the city of Keller, Texas.  He is currently licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. He has served on the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for 10 years and has been president for part of his time on the board. He was initially appointed president by former Oklahoma Governor Henry and later re-appointed by Governor Keating.  In his spare time, Dr. Tidwell enjoys cycling and mountain climbing.  He is a new grandfather and has two Jack Russell terriers, Sydney and The Big Woo.





Dr. Gena VIator is a 1985 graduate of Texas A&M University.  She is currently on the board of the Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association, the Fort Worth/Tarrant County Animal Foundation, as well as an active member of the Awards Committee of the Texas Paint Horse Club.  Dr. Viator has a special interest in pain management.  She is certified in veterinary acupuncture and also uses cold laser therapy for pain management.  In her spare time, Dr. Viator enjoys spending time on her ranch with her family and horses.  Dr. Viator and her husband, C.J., have two adult children and multiple 4-legged family members, including 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 5 horses.  She has been practicing in the Tarrant County area for a number of years now and we love having her here as part of the Keller Animal Clinic family!

 

Dr. Betsy Murdock graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2014.  She practiced for two years in Nevada before moving to Texas with her husband, Scott, and their dog, Annie.  Dr. Murdock especially enjoys preventative medicine, pain management and internal medicine.  When she's not working, she enjoys running, hiking and baking.


Sarah Beth Meyerdirk, Keller Animal ClinicSarah Beth McMillan, practice manager, is the second of Dr. Meyerdirk's four children and has had a lifelong passion for animals.  She has worked alongside Dr. Meyerdirk for many of her years growing up.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Nutrition as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She and her husband, Kurt, live just north of Waco.  They spend must of their free time together outdoors caring for their 3 Labradors, a cat and several cows. Sarah Beth enjoys running and doing yoga during her free time.  Emma, who most of you know and love, still frequents the clinic with her on a daily basis and enjoys greeting all the clients, taking long naps in the reception area, and eating as many treats as possible.

 

 

Nancy Stroud, Keller Animal ClinicNancy Stroud, client care specialist, has dedicated 21 years to animal care and 18 of them with Dr. Steve Meyerdirk.  Nancy grew up just down the road in Haltom City, Texas.  She is married to Laythan and they have two sons, Britt and Matt, and two grandchildren.  Nancy enjoys traveling to see the grandchildren in Florida, cooking, decorating, gardening, and working out.  She stays pretty busy!  When you are here, make sure to say, "Hi!" to Nancy.

 










Michelle Leader, client care specialist, has been a part of the veterinary field for about 6 years now.  Michelle and her family have lived in many different areas of the country due to her husband's work in the military.  However, they moved to Forth Worth in 2013 and are here to stay!  Michelle and her husband, Robert, have two children, Matthew and Madison.  Their four-legged family includes a  new doodle puppy named Sully and a cat named Simon.  Michelle loves being a part of the Keller Animal Clinic family and helping our clients with whatever they may need.






 



Nikki Daniels, veterinary technician, has worked in the veterinary field for about 5 years now.  She has a strong passion for veterinary medicine and the patients she gets to help on a daily basis.  Her favorite part of the practice is getting to assist the doctors and learning everything she can about the medicine.  She currently resides in Northlake with her family and a handful of animals.  On her days off, you can find Nikki outside with her dogs, Lacey and Penny, throwing frisbees, spending time at the lake during the summer, and resting in the hammock at home.














ParkerParker Stansel, veterinary technician, is a native Denton-ite and has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years now.  She has worked at clinics in both Denton and College Station and after graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism, she moved back home to Denton and jumped right back into work.  Every day is something new and different and her interests include behavior, radiology and assisting in surgery.  She is well versed in helping owners with the required paperwork to get their pets to different countries all over the world.  Parker resides in Denton with her husband Jared, her son Emerson, and one Shih Tzu furbaby-Papi.   An avid naturalist and stargazer, she enjoys camping, backpacking and anything to do with the outdoors.  If not outside, she can be found museum hopping, reading or road tripping with the family.
